This room divider is created from an old piano, which couldn't be saved anymore. The front of the lid shows Rusalka, a water nymph,singing and pleading the moon to pass on her love to her human lover. This scene shows a more romantic ending of the very tragic opera. In this scene her tail transforms into a beautiful dress and she can be with her loved one forever.
The opera Rusalka is written by Dvorak and this scene shows the Moon light song. The back of the piano lid shows the first few lines of the sheet music from the same moon light song.
