Folding Screen – Ode to Wassail
This screen is inspired by my visit to the Hill House in St Helensburgh in Scotland. The style from Mackintosh and both Macdonald sisters very much inspired this artwork, with a little nod to the Wassail painting from Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The pink circles on the Wassail painting felt to me like lanterns. The side panels of this folding screen highlight the lanterns and the lantern in the middle of the screen is hold by both ladies.
I very much love creating folding screens, as they resemble a little world of their own. You can fold the screen around you and being in your own world and creates a little bit of magic. I very much felt in my own bubble creating this magical screen.
Key Features:
- Hand-painted on both sides for 360° display
- Made from durable pine wood
- Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s The Wassail
- Ideal for use as a room divider or decorative statement piece
- Unique dual-sided artwork with mirrored, yet distinct designs
The screen measures about 120 cm x 180 cm at the highest point, with each panel 30 cm wide.
