Furniture Paint Workshop – Transform Your Unloved Furniture into Functional Pieces of Art

You can learn how to transform your old, worn furniture into stunning functional art pieces that reflect your personal style. I will teach you all the techniques you need for priming, pattern design, colour application and how to apply a protective finishing, so you can take home a completely rejuvenated piece ready to be showcased in your home.

Nervous about your creative abilities? I will guide you through each step of the transformation process, making furniture upcycling accessible even for complete beginners. You work in your own pace and learn all the techniques along the way.

 

Throughout this workshop, you'll work with your own piece of furniture, whether it's a kitchen stool or a treasured heirloom. You can bring your piece without it being sanded, or you can sand your piece if you prefer.  The day begins with priming, followed by pattern design and colour application using paints of your choice. The process balances technical instruction with creative freedom, creating a mindful experience that many find deeply satisfying. At the end of the day, you'll focus on adding finishing touches and applying protective varnish to ensure your piece stands up to everyday use.

By the end of this how-to activity, you'll discover not just a renewed piece of furniture, but a new creative practice that combines artistic expression with practical skills. The transformation process offers a rewarding sense of accomplishment and provides you with techniques you can continue to use at home, turning forgotten items into cherished features of your living space.

 

Information about the Workshops

I arrange bespoke workshops on a day to suit you.  If you and a friend (or group of friends) want to do the workshop together I offer day workshops for two at £ 250 (£ 125 each), for three at £ 315 (£105 each) and four at £ 380 (£95 each). If you do not have a others you wish to come with please contact me and we can either discuss a one-to-one workshop, or I can keep your details and match you up with someone else in the same position.
