Welcome to My Creative World: A New Adventure in the English Countryside

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet! Let me introduce myself – my name is Jolanda, a Dutchie who now calls the English countryside home. Ever since I first visited England, I felt an undeniable sense of belonging, and in 2016, my husband and I decided to take the plunge and make it our home. We packed our bags, moved to the UK, and haven’t looked back since.

We’re now living in a charming little cottage surrounded by a beautiful garden, nestled in the heart of the countryside. The changing seasons bring so much joy to our lives – the delicate blossoms of spring, the bounty of fruits and vegetables during the summer, and the harvest season in autumn. And when winter rolls around, we light the fire, curl up by the fireplace, and enjoy the coziness of our home.

But it’s not just the beauty of the countryside that has made our lives so fulfilling – moving here has also given me the space and freedom to explore my creative side. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for creating art out of furniture, and with more room to work, I’ve been able to dive into that passion fully.

One of the things I’m truly passionate about is sustainability. I believe in reducing waste, reusing what’s already there, and recycling materials to create something new and beautiful. That’s why all the furniture I make is upcycled. Currently, I’ve been crafting room dividers from new pine wood panels, but I also dream of using reclaimed wood in the future – something to look forward to!

On this blog, I’ll be sharing my journey, including the furniture I’ve created (some of which are available for sale right here on the website). In future posts, I’ll also dive into the process behind my creations – from the ideas that spark them to the techniques I use to bring them to life.

Excitingly, I’m also in the process of launching workshops in the Cambridge and London areas! I can’t wait to share more details with you soon, and I’ll keep you updated as things unfold.

Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to connecting with you as I continue to explore my creative journey in this beautiful part of the world.

Stay tuned for more!

Jolanda x
